Empathy, Self-Care, Growth

A cradle is a gentle way of holding oneself. Think of how things could be if you cradled your life with self-compassion, esteem, positive self-talk, and confidence. A safe place to develop coping skills, techniques, and healthy boundaries. A chance to talk, process and enhance your journey in life at whatever stage you may be at the moment.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia, Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida, Perinatal Mental Health Certified, National Certified Counselor and Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I have worked with children, adults, couples, active duty military and military spouses overseas and stateside. I have had the honor to develop strong alliances and bonds with many clients, and in order to continue that connection I decided to build an online teletherapy practice. Finding someone you click with is a beautiful thing. I was in private practice in the Panhandle of Florida for six years before moving to Virginia in 2021. This way I can maintain a presence virtually in Florida and now in Virginia. The Counseling Cradle was born out of the desire and need to address individual care, growth and support in a safe and secure online setting. I specialize in helping clients navigate through anxiety, adjustments, anger, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, pregnancy and postpartum. I am certified in Perinatal Mental Health, (PMH-C) and enjoy working with new and seasoned parents. A cradle may be known as an infant’s bed or crib, but it’s not all baby talk, it’s also about taking baby steps to get to where you want to be. This particular definition can be connected in therapy when addressing basic needs. Going back to building awareness, breathing, grounding, imagery, meditation, and mindfulness. Sometimes giving yourself permission to rest and be authentic is important to move forward. Cradle is also known as a “framework on which a ship or boat rests during construction or repair.” Counseling Cradle offers an opportunity to renew and regain, whether it is a new start or perspective. Getting to the root of the concerns and identifying the underlying causes in order to rebuild and solidify that framework. A chance to create a pause and rest, to sink into your own knowing and healing work. This can be achieved through addressing beliefs, feelings, patterns, thoughts, and values. The Counseling Cradle is here for you when you are ready to start your journey. Scheduling an Appointment and What to expect: : Reaching out is a big step and we can find out if we are a good fit. Call (757) 317-2948 or email heather@counselingcradle.com. If you reach my voicemail, you can expect a return call within 24-48 business hours. You can share briefly why you are seeking counseling and ask any questions. Next, complete intake paperwork which will be accessed online through the secure client portal. A link will be emailed to you before the initial appointment. Click on it at the scheduled appointment time to enter. Payment: Accepted Insurance (for clients residing in Virginia): Oscar Health, United Healthcare, Oxford, Cigna, and Aetna plans. Check out webpage with Headway: https://headway.co/providers/heather-cosimo Private pay is $145/session (50 minutes) for individuals. Couples skill building session: $220/session (90 minutes). Paying out of pocket affords that extra sense of confidentiality, and ease of mind, knowing a diagnosis will not be on a permanent record and is not necessary in order to bill an insurance carrier. All payments are online and due at the time of service. Accepted credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Discover, and Diners Club. FSA and HSA cards for client payments. Out-of-Network Insurance - Some clients use their “out-of-network” benefits to get reimbursed. You can check with your insurance to see if mental health services are covered fully or partially as an “out-of-network” benefit. Counseling Cradle will provide you with a superbill/receipts for you to submit to your insurance carrier for reimbursement. Payment is due upfront and then it is the client's responsibility to submit the superbill/receipt to their individual insurance carrier. It is recommended to call your plan directly to see if they provide any coverage (it is recommended to ask if it is for partial or full coverage) for out of network mental health outpatient services, and if Telehealth is a covered benefit. Other services: Coaching session- $145/hour Individual Guided Imagery session - $45/30 minutes. For relaxation and stress reduction. Gain clarity, intention and focus. Reset and renew with a brief 30 minute session. A refreshing way to start, break up or end the day. Cancellation Policy: Cancellations and rescheduled appointments must be made 24 hours before the scheduled session. If you do not show up for your scheduled appointment, and/or you have not notified me at least 24 hours in advance, the client is responsible for the full payment of the session. CONTACT by phone or email: 757-317-2948. We can schedule a free 15 minute consultation. Or email: heather@counselingcradle.com
